The Berylune Blog

I had a day off today
It's been sweeping through my circle of friends like an easily transmitted disease. Roisin was heavily afflicted when I first met her and symptoms were apparent and obvious. Zoëwas a carrier, but recently the symptoms have started to become more pronounced. Then it took Amy. She seemed to be weathering it well, until last Christmas, when she gave up fighting it altogether (I feel a bit bad about...
We like shelves. (Also some Friday Finds)
Little sets of shelves are ace. You can fill them with your favourite bits and pieces. Mine have Gregory Peck on them, a marble, a doll from Retrouve, a caravan, a highland cow, an alabaster bird, a plate with a donkey on it, a wooden bird Amy bought me for my Birthday, a pretty felt doll that Zoë made for me, a Christmas present from Paul (those nesting owls are amazing, aren't they?), an old...
Why can't every weekend be a bank holiday?
I've had a fun few days!

On Wednesday night, Fiona taught a fabulous workshop on Styling your Crafts. Zoë attended along with 5 other lovely crafty & creative people, wanting to learn more about photographing their products to sell online. Everyone had such lovely goodies to photograph! Liz, our friendly neighbourhood vintage ice cream van driver, also came along to learn a bit about photographing...
Friday Finds
This week's Friday Find is from Paul. He spied this gem and saw it's potential, despite needing a good clean, whilst visiting relatives up north.

This Metamec beauty was made in England in the early 1980s. We adore its beautiful face and retro styling. As Paul has a number of clocks already, he has kindly decided this one can be sold in the shop.

Paul made himself a tie! From scratch and everything!

There is something really interesting in the distance...

If you fancy having a go at making one for yourself, or for your Dad (don't forget it's Father's day tomorrow!), I found a great tutorial here. We think the wilder the fabric, the better.

Mad dogs and Northerners
We had a fabulous birthday. I got to give presents to little girls (and big ones) and many cakes were eaten. Amy and Denise wore big puffy frocks. We got some lovely 1st birthday cards and Roisin even brought us...
A couple of finished projects
We've all been quite productive at Knit & Natter lately. There are a few projects nearly complete, my larksfoot blanket is almost done. I've been stalling it's completion as I don't have another project lined up yet... Maybe I'll try a bit of knitting again. Maybe.

Yellow satchel takes a trip...
Zoë and Paul recently had a few days away in sunny Glasgow and Zoë's new yellow satchel went along for the ride! Paul took the opportunity to play with his new camera, we are loving the results.

Thank you for sharing!

Zoë's Chest (again)

Zoë and Paul popped in to the shop on Saturday - although Paul cycled all the way from Rugby, so 'popped' isn't really the word for it... We thought Paul deserved a cuppa and a flapjack for his efforts:
Well done Paul! We were most impressed. We're saving a nice soft seat for him at knit and natter tomorrow night, in case he hasn't yet fully recovered...

Zoë was good enough to flash her chest for us...
