I saw this cool party hat on Pinterest the other day, which Zoë and I thought would make an appropriate Washi Wednesday! Zoë took a toilet roll tube, covered it in washi stripes, punched holes in the side for an elastic and cut points around the top. Then I made her wear it and smile for the camera!

I have Lara to thank for this week's Washi Wednesday; I had grand plans to blow an egg and cover it in Washi, but I liked Lara's idea better. So here it is:

Ahhh, Washi. It would appear that there is literally no end of things to do with it. Actually, don't quote me on that, we're bound to run out eventually.

How do you store your Washi? I thought I'd share how I store mine. I have a dedicated Washi-Wench, who follows me round all day and satisfies my Washi needs. Her name is Zoë.

I'm a bit too tired to type anything cohesive, so here are some pretty butterfly shapes Zoë cut out of some card covered with washi. Aren't they pretty?

Ha! You thought I'd forgotten, didn't you? It might be the eleventh hour, but it's still Wednesday. I've just returned home from Kayal, where we were out celebrating my Mum's Birthday. I shan't say which one it was, but it was a significant landmark. Kayal is amazing, if you haven't been, you should go. I had a scrummy fish thing that was baked in a palm leaf or something. And the breads... Oh,...

Can you smell it in the air? It's that time of year again. The supermarkets dedicate entire aisles to it. I find myself being drawn to window displays full of it. Coins burn holes in my pockets until they have been spent on it. Mmmm...Stationery.

It's Wednesday! The weeks are flying by aren't they? We're hurtling towards the C-Word at an epic pace.

This week's Washi Wednesday was proposed by Zoë, who saw it here (with a handy tutorial), and executed by me at Knit & Natter last night. I'll be honest, there is always natter, but the knitting doesn't necessarily materialise.

Washi bunting! Hurrah. And Chocolate Beetroot cake made by my Mum. Might sound weird, but tastes delicious.

Apparently, Badminton racquets flake black stuff all over your hands. Or at least the inexpensive ones do. The racquet pictured below has been given a face lift by covering the flaking handle in Washi. Problem solved.

We have a new thing! We have boxes for storing your Washi in. Look how pretty they are, all lined up and ready to use. They also stack, and you can label them. One for every colour? Season? Project? Joy.

This week I watched jumbo lolly sticks (or tongue depressors) soak in water for three days, so I could bend them around a shampoo bottle (slowly), tie them in place with some wool and spend a day watching them dry. I lost momentum at this point, so Amy wrapped this one in rainbow stripes of Washi tape and Zoë modeled the result. Team effort.

Ok. So here's the thing I was working on last week and failed to complete! I got some magnetic strip, covered it in Washi and trimmed the edges in to either torn-looking edges or sharp flag-style edges. They work a treat on my boring notice board!

I spent this afternoon making something cool for Washi Wednesday, really I did. It involved a craft knife and a cutting mat. I mounted something on a wall, cleaned something, found some pretty things (and pretty boys) to go with it. I grabbed my camera, got it in focus and pressed the button. This week's Washi Wednesday is from Zoë. We have already had washi-covered pegs, but this time we've gone miniature! The pegs Zoë used have a teeny magnetic strip on the back, so can attach mini notes or labels to appropriate metal surfaces, like say fridges or cake tins. Mmmm....cake....
