These heavy glass objects were once mounted / screwed on to electricity and telephone poles across the USA, designed to keep wires separate from their supports.
Now they make an excellent paperweight or talking piece on a shelf in your home! There are many collectors of these out there, who will take great pleasure in telling you about the history and manufacturing of these wonderful pieces; we just like the pretty colours and unusual shapes. Some date back as far as the 1850s, but we doubt we have any that old.
This listing is for GRADE A insulators - featuring fewer cracks and chips, although by no means none! These are old and have been used, if you're after a pristine item, these are likely not for you. We love their history and rugged nature. We suspect these are not as old as those on our other listings.
