Iron Dutch Oven

Dutch ovens take campfire cooking to another level. Essentially it is a thick-walled cooking pot made of cast iron, thick enough to protect the food inside from burning on an open fire. The heat is spread evenly across the Dutch oven and heats the food from all sides. Coal or briquettes can be placed on top of the lid to create extra warmth and it has a firm footing in or on the fire thanks to its three legs. Alternatively the Dutch oven can be hung above the fire thanks to the handle's special 'suspension hook notch'. The lid hook included makes it easy to remove hot lids, without using your hands. It can be used to create slow cooked meals such as chillis and stews and even baked in.
