Spring Fair

Amy & I popped along to Spring Fair on Wednesday, to see what all the fuss was about. If you don't know what that is, it's essentially an opportunity for people with shops to have a peek at what manufacturers/wholesalers/importers are pedaling for the coming season.

And it occupies all of the halls of the NEC. ALL of them. It's slightly overwhelming, as there is so little there that applies to us. We started in hall 6, which was pretentiously entitled 'Contemporary Gift & Home', but we didn't hold that against them.

We met some great people, we'll almost definitely be placing orders for new things in the coming weeks.  Some companies we met we had previously written off for various reasons, but either their products or their sales pitch helped us change our minds. Likewise, some products we were excited about seeing were really disappointing! So it was definitely worth the trip.

We placed one little order while we were there, which I am VERY excited about and look forward to showing you when it arrives!

Here was Amy's favourite display:

Felt stuffed animal heads...with a Giraffe!

At one point we accidentally wondered in to a hall labelled just 'Gifts'. We got a bit lost and I started to have a panic attack. We were surrounded by retail hell; wind spinners, LFC aprons (no offence to Liverpool fans, but do you need an apron? really?), elephant head toilet roll holders and Coronation St branded goods. Amy held my hand and calmed me by saying 'avert your eyes, it will all be ok'. Luckily, the taste police turned up just as we found the way out.

Go get 'em

It was time to leave. So we headed back to our little shop and everything was ok again.
