Letting the shell pattern cover the clothes creates an ambiguity in the motif. Humor is mixed with seriousness. The womans position fills the picture, she is strong and vulnerable at the same time. The pattern is both a defense and a fragility. Original painting with acrylic.

Sofia Lind is a designer and artist from Gothenburg, Sweden. After studying at HDK – Academy of Design and Crafts and Konstfack she went to Stockholm where she’s active now. Her work is very much imbued with patterns. The digital part of her work comes in late in the process and she allows the materials/paintings be visible and present.
